Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD)
ACTIMMUNE® was studied in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 128 patients with different patterns of CGD inheritance.1 Patients ranged in age from 1 to 44 years, with the mean age being 14.6 years. The average duration of ACTIMMUNE® therapy was 8.9 months.
In this trial, ACTIMMUNE® reduced the relative risk of serious infections that required hospitalization or intravenous antibiotic treatment by 67%.1 After 12 months, 77% of patients receiving ACTIMMUNE® plus prophylactic antibiotics were free of serious infections, compared with 30% of patients receiving placebo.1

ACTIMMUNE® reduced the number of patients experiencing at least one serious infection by 53%, compared with patients receiving the placebo. In addition, ACTIMMUNE® reduced the frequency of recurrent infections. There was a 64% reduction in the total number of serious infections in patients receiving ACTIMMUNE® compared with patients receiving placebo.
